Shay Whitcomb returned from Triple-A after a recent roster change. He was placed directly into the lineup and played three straight games. His third start took place on 26 August 2026 when the Giants played against the Cincinnati Reds. Whitcomb hit his first home run since joining the Giants during that game.
That hit helped the Giants win that night. Fans welcomed his effort. He has played consistently since coming back up. The Giants plan to retain him in the standard lineup setup.
