Roy Moore Supreme Court Defamation Appeal Thrown Out

The US Supreme Court has rejected Roy Moore's appeal to restore an $8.2 million defamation verdict in his favour. The court declined the case on 5 October 2026, putting an end to Moore's effort to reinstate the jury's original ruling.

The dispute involves a campaign advertisement. Moore had argued the verdict should stand in his favour, but the Supreme Court's decision not to hear the appeal leaves the earlier ruling in place against him.
