The NFL is phasing out the annual Pro Bowl event after 75 years. The league is pulling the plug on the actual game, but star players will continue to be recognized. Players will continue to be named as Pro Bowlers to receive their yearly recognition.
Player honors will remain intact despite the cancellation of the match. However, backup selections will no longer be acknowledged by the league. The ruling ends the 75 year history of the yearly event, but leading stars will continue getting their official Pro Bowl honors each year.
