The goal made him the 12th teenager in NHL history to score in his first two playoff games and the first Flyers player to do it. It also added to a strong early stretch for him since joining Philadelphia late in the regular season.[1][2]
Martone was the Flyers’ first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, and he has quickly become a major storyline in their postseason run. ESPN noted that coach Rick Tocchet said Martone “is not overwhelmed,” which fits the impression that he’s handling the spotlight well.[2][1]
