Stargazers can now spot the first Perseid meteors ahead of the primary display. The light show peaks in middle of August next year. Early sightings will be hard, though. The bright moon now washes out subtle flashes. Head into darker hours near the peak. The best views come from dark sky spots away from cities. Clear nights could show up to a hundred meteors hourly at the busiest time.
