A plane from Air Canada slid off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It landed, then rolled onto the grass and came to rest beside the runway. Officials shut that strip down immediately. Nobody was injured during the incident, even though it felt rough.
That block stopped takeoffs and landings for several hours. Cleanup crews brought equipment to the area. Others checked the runway for damage. In the afternoon, planes were taking off and landing again when the strip reopened.
