A 7.4 tremor shook Mexico’s Pacific coast just before 6 a.m. on Friday.
A broad tsunami alert was issued for coastal strips across Mexico and Guatemala shortly thereafter.
The ground remained restless, shaking towns further north into Guatemala and El Salvador as well.
Moments after 4 a.m., a 7.3 quake trembled the same area.
No information of harm or collapsed buildings were received after the warnings.
