Jewellery brand Giva has removed a Raksha Bandhan promotional clip featuring Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon after public criticism over her outfit. The commercial for the Indian Hindu festival was scrapped after online outcry regarding a bikini outfit. In response to the cancellation of the campaign, Sanon challenged when society will cease telling women what to wear.
Politician Rahul Gandhi supported Kriti Sanon and defended the actor over the advert row, stating that what a woman wears is her personal choice. Actor Kangana Ranaut also posted online regarding the controversy, sharing a post addressed to Rahul Gandhi.
