Former world No 1 and US Open champion Chris Evert revealed that her ovarian cancer has resurfaced for the third time. She described the illness as relentless and highlighted the personal struggle she now confronts after her storied tennis career.
After discussions with her oncology team, she underwent surgery to remove the tumour. Evert announced she will miss this year’s Wimbledon, stating the choice was made to prioritise recovery and continue treatment. Her representatives added that she will now concentrate on post-operative care.
