All Blacks halfback Cam Roigard says the loss to South Africa still stings and New Zealand must carry lessons from the setback into the Bledisloe Cup opener against Australia at Eden Park.

Roigard also spoke of a "weird" feeling heading into the test, offering little further detail.

Anton Segner said the squad has shifted attention to the Wallabies match and is focused on what comes next.

The Bledisloe Cup opener at Eden Park is a key moment for the All Blacks to respond after the Springboks loss.
