Ukrainian forces targeted a critical Russian air base over 800 km far inside Russia. They smashed a Tupolev Tu-95 bomber employed in strategic missions. The operation happened at the Engels air base. President Zelenskyy called it a decisive hit on Russia’s strike capability. The Tu-95 can deliver nuclear armaments. This attack reached further into Russia than any previous before since 2022. Outside observers validated the strike took place.
