Members of Parliament have suggested replacing the BBC's licence fee. They propose cutting costs and extending funding to cover areas outside of television. MPs also propose abolishing the BBC's charter review and preventing the broadcaster from outbidding commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to address the BBC's financial challenges as it faces a key turning point. The recommendations come amid ongoing discussions about the broadcaster's future direction.
