Typically held on the Saturday before the main event, this session often decides the pole position based on the fastest lap time, with some drivers achieving track records at Mount Panorama. In the recent years, drivers have secured pole position and won the Shootout, such as Brodie Kostecki in 2025, who set the pace and secured the coveted pole position.
