ASOS app users in Australia and elsewhere received a disturbing push notification on 6 October 2026, in what is being treated as a hack of the online fashion retailer. The message contained a data breach warning and said customer data could be exposed.

Users expressed serious worry on social media, with outlets including News.com.au, Nine.com.au, the BBC, and the ABC reporting significant public alarm. ASOS has still not disclosed the extent of the breach or how many customers had their data compromised.
